About

Liv is a New York City–based researcher, writer, and events programmer whose work focuses on the cultural and social meanings of dress. Her research interests span early 20th-century costume design and couture, queer and trans dress histories, and late 20th century avant-garde designers.

Since August 2024, Liv has published independent research through her Substack, Victorian Secret, covering topics such as the phenomenon of Egyptomania in European and American material culture and representations of queerness in film and popular media.

Liv has interned with the Underpinnings Museum since February 2025, where she conducts historical research on undergarments and related materials, contributes written content to the museum’s digital collections, and reviews exhibition texts. In this position, she aims to translate specialized research into accessible, engaging content.

In addition to her research, Liv produces educational fashion history events. During their senior year at FIT, Liv revived the institution’s Fashion History Club, serving as President and Director of Programming. In this role, she organized 18 events, including guest lectures, exhibition tours, and symposia, collaborating with scholars such as historian Jonathan Michael Square, fashion theorist Valerie Steele, dress historian Wafa Ghnaim, and Avery Trufelman, host of the Articles of Interest podcast.

She also volunteers with the Art Deco Society of New York, contributing to social media posts and event programming focused on 1920s and 1930s fashion history.
